C.W.E Connolly did the first land revenue settlement in Gangapur in 1911. According to that settlement the land revenue was Rs. 84,257. The tribals were not satisfied with the settlement. As per settlement, the ryot had to render free and forced labour "Bethy" and "Begar" to the state. The lands lay invariably on slopes or a rocky soil.
